THE SOCIAL EXPERIMENT
We were to create a scene in our campus whereby the receiving end(random students) doesn't know this is an experiment and that they're being filmed - all their reaction, action, and responds.
"Conducting a Social Experiment"
For my group, we wanted to create something different, not being so mainstream ie. dropping your wallet and see who would pick it up, who wouldn't. We wanted to see how the youths of today respond in contrast to 'saying' and actually ' doing'.
Group
Our team, The Dramatic Hooligans, consist of Sue Zhua, Bryan, Sri Devi, and I. However you would not see Sri Devi in any part of the video of in any of the process because she was absent for well, a few weeks. We tried contacting her with no luck, so oh well, we had to proceed without her.
Idea
Our main 'slogan' is "Actions speak louder than words". In order to execute this idea we came up with an idea where we would interview a couple of students on their thoughts of blood donation and whether they would do it.
Here's a supposedly simple diagram of the possible reactions and outcome.

Action
The gist is that we basically we interview a random student and give out blood donation brochure about 10 minutes later, as simple as that really. However therein lies the problem, its as simple as that, accepting a brochure or asking further information, that no one does. Generally, we as the people would ignore, even though when asked face to face we would 'say' yes.
Gah watching the video would be so much easier to understand. Enjoy :)
Experience
Also I learnt the basics of video editing through a Mac, and how to take candid videos without being noticed (being a stalker). From the day our activity announced we knew it would be a handful of work that needs to be done, from planning this whole experiment - how, when, where, who, what - to the video editing part which we knew it would consume a lot of time. Plus the best part was we made a deal with Mr. Charles to achieve the top 3 most liked video in the entire July intake CTS course (which I'm pretty sure we did ;))
We stayed back everyday from Wednesday(right after CTS class) until Friday to discuss and conduct our entire experiment. I edited the video from Saturday until 3a.m. of Tuesday. What an experience.
